Congratulations to Nemphos Braue client InventWood LLC on receiving a $20 million grant from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
The DOE’s Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) recently awarded a total of $100 million to eight clean energy technology projects through its Seeding Critical Advances for Leading Energy technologies with Untapped Potential (SCALEUP) program.
A startup founded in 2016 by Professor Liangbing Hu of the University of Maryland, InventWood has created a game-changing wood material that is 60% stronger than construction grade steel but 80% lighter, much less expensive, and far more sustainable.
The company’s goal is to transform the materials that the world uses every day, and their products will ultimately result in significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.
