NEMPHOS BRAUE REPRESENTS AMALGAM RX IN ACQUISITION OF AVHANA HEALTH
–Deal unites two healthcare technology leaders to optimize medical and telehealth workflows for providers–
BALTIMORE — Amalgam Rx Inc., a growing digital health company represented by Baltimore-based boutique law firm Nemphos Braue LLC, has completed its acquisition of Avhana Health Inc., creator of a SaaS-based tool integrated with the leading electronic health records (EHR) companies. The deal closed earlier this month; terms were not disclosed.
Wilmington, Del.-based Amalgam Rx develops digital therapeutics and patient support programs to improve patient outcomes and reduce cost of care. As remote care and telehealth continues to transform healthcare, Amalgam Rx’s FDA-cleared, clinically validated technologies within their Software as a medical device (SaMD) platform bring patients and providers closer together, reimagine care delivery and directly impact the chronic care ecosystem.
Avhana Health, a clinical decision support (CDS) company with locations in Baltimore, Boston and Los Angeles, developed its core application Avhana to provide real-time, patient-specific best practices for providers to utilize at the point of care. Ahvana has been implemented in more than 150 provider groups and estimates $120 million a year in cost savings.
Critical data from Avhana’s EHR-integrated tool combined with Amalgam Rx’s innovative digital portfolio and digital-pharma combination products results in simplified workflows for doctors, improved quality of care and remote-care support, and reduced healthcare costs.

The Nemphos Braue team has previously provided legal support and negotiations services for Amalgam Rx on multiple rounds of financing and ventures with pharmaceutical companies domestically and internationally. The acquisition of Avhana Health is Amalgam Rx’s first, and will allow Amalgam Rx to expand the use of Avhana to multiple therapeutic areas alongside Amalgam Rx’s robust telehealth offerings.
