Shop Small, Make a BIG Difference: How to Help During COVID-19

From your favorite neighborhood family-owned restaurant to one-of-a-kind custom creations available from online shops, there are multiple ways to show your support for small businesses this holiday season.

The Small Business Administration’s annual initiative – Small Business Saturday – is coming up on Saturday, November 28, 2020.

From advising entrepreneurs to helping companies work with the state of Maryland, we support small businesses every day of the year. Now more than ever, small businesses need our support. There are multiple ways to shop local and small: order takeout, shop online, buy a gift certificate, and more. Check out the SBA’s annual Shop Small initiative for more tips and information.

According to a recent analysis, two-thirds of every dollar ($0.67) spent at small businesses in the U.S. stays in the local community. Whether buying a cup of coffee from the neighborhood cafe, or buying a gift from a local artist, those acts make a big difference for small businesses.

Whether it’s Small Business Saturday, or any day of the year, we salute small business owners everywhere and hope there are good things ahead in 2021.
