February is American Heart Month, and as strong supporters of the American Heart Association, Nemphos Braue kicked off this month by being part of the Greater Maryland chapter’s Breakfast in Red event.
The Go Red campaign raises awareness that cardiovascular disease is the No. 1 killer of women with these reminders:
G: GET YOUR NUMBERS – Ask your doctor to check your blood pressure and cholesterol.
O: OWN YOUR LIFESTYLE – Stop smoking, lose weight, exercise, and eat healthy.
R: REALIZE YOUR RISK – We think it won’t happen to us, but heart disease kills 1 in 3 women.
E: EDUCATE YOUR FAMILY – Make healthy food choices for you & your family and stay active.
D: DON’T BE SILENT – Tell every woman you know that heart disease is our No. 1 killer.
A member of the Board of Directors for Greater Maryland, George Nemphos, along with his wife Claudia Nemphos, are auction chairs for this year’s Heart of Maryland event.
Marking 100 years of life-saving work, this year’s Heart of Maryland event will be held on Saturday, May 4th. To learn more about the auction and the event, visit the American Heart Association event page.
