Extending a partnership with the Towson University StarTUp Accelerator, attorneys from Nemphos Braue spent time with this year’s cohort, educating participants regarding important legal considerations for their businesses and providing free office hours for founders.
The participating companies represent a wide range of industries ranging from technology to sports, and the passion and enthusiasm from the founders is infectious. Nemphos Braue attorneys enjoy meeting with the individual companies to better understand their unique products, services and situations. This year, attorney Michael Antone presented on the importance of protecting intellectual property and things to consider regarding copyrights, trademarks, patents and trade secrets. Member Lauren Ziegler spoke with the cohort regarding structure, financing and important contracts to consider, including founder agreements.
During the program, founders have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with an attorney and ask questions that are specific to their venture. Having worked with numerous startups as well as emerging and mature companies, Nemphos Braue attorneys are able to share experience and knowledge to help guide founders at such a crucial stage.
Nemphos Braue also hosted a meet-and-greet with this year’s cohort, bringing together participants and attorneys for an opportunity to learn more about each founder’s entrepreneurial journey.
