About Girls’ Empowerment Mission
The Greater Excellence in Education Foundation (GEM) is a non-profit organization based in Maryland that is dedicated to improving educational outcomes for students in the state. GEM works with schools, businesses, and community organizations to provide innovative programs and resources that help students succeed academically and prepare for future careers.
One of GEM’s primary programs is its mentoring program, which pairs students with mentors who can provide guidance and support as they navigate their educational and professional journeys. GEM also offers college and career readiness programs, including college tours, job shadowing opportunities, and internship placements, to help students gain the skills and experience they need to succeed in college and beyond.
GEM’s programs are designed to address the unique challenges facing students in Maryland, particularly those from underserved communities. The organization believes that every student has the potential to succeed and is committed to providing the resources and support necessary to help them achieve their goals.
GEM relies on the support of donors, volunteers, and community partners to fund and implement its programs. By working together, GEM and its partners are making a positive impact on the lives of students in Maryland and helping to build a stronger, more vibrant community.
