Nemphos Braue LLC, the premier corporate boutique law firm in the Mid-Atlantic region, is pleased to announce that Carlos “CJ” Santos has been selected by Super Lawyers magazine to the 2019 Maryland Rising Star list.
Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice area. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys.
Santos, an associate on Nemphos Braue’s corporate team, focuses on representing emerging and mature private companies. He represents clients in private company mergers and acquisitions (both buy and sale side), private equity transactions, and debt-financing. Santos also handles a variety of matters relating to corporate governance, general corporate issues, and business law.
“We are so proud that CJ has been named a Rising Star by Super Lawyers magazine,” said managing member George Nemphos. “CJ has been a great asset to our team, and it is wonderful that he is being recognized for his hard work, dedication and success.”
Before joining Nemphos Braue, Santos was an associate attorney at McGuireWoods LLP, where he acted as underwriter’s counsel for public finance transactions involving healthcare institutions and charter schools and bank’s counsel for secured loan financings. He was also an associate attorney at McKennon Shelton & Henn LLP, where as bond counsel he handled transactions involving general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, and debt and lease financing.
