CJ Santos is an associate at NB Law, where he represents emerging and mature private companies and venture capital investors. He frequently represents clients in private company mergers and acquisitions (both buy and sell side), private equity transactions, and debt-financing. Mr. Santos also handles a variety of matters relating to corporate governance, general corporate issues, and business law. Mr. Santos advises emerging and mature private companies across an array of industries, including technology, automotive, healthcare, insurance, and construction. He is also experienced in the representation of financial institutions in connection with secured loan financing.
Prior to joining NB Law, Mr. Santos was an associate at McGuireWoods LLP, where he acted as underwriter’s counsel for public finance transactions involving healthcare institutions and charter schools, and bank’s counsel for secured loan financings. Mr. Santos also served as trustee’s counsel for asset securitization transactions relating to energy efficiency receivables. Prior to this position, he was an associate at McKennon Shelton & Henn LLP, where as bond counsel he handled various transactions involving general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, and tax increment financings.
Admitted to practice law in the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia, Mr. Santos is a 2013 cum laude graduate from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, where he was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution team and a recipient of the Public Service Award, and a 2010 magna cum laude graduate of Salisbury University. Mr. Santos is a member of the American Bar Association and the Maryland State Bar Association.
