Caroline Popper

Caroline Popper, MD, MPH, JD joined Nemphos Braue in August 2024*. Caroline previously co-founded and served as president for Popper and Company LLC, a Baltimore-based strategy and M&A advisory firm dedicated to helping life science companies develop and commercialize new technology. Through her consultancy, she led the growth strategy and served as founding CEO for multiple hospital and university spinouts and advised healthcare, diagnostic, life science tools, MedTech, digital and pharma services companies from startup to exit, and from early financing rounds to multibillion-dollar acquisitions.

Caroline serves as a board member for several venture and private equity-backed healthcare and life sciences companies and has a long track record of collaborating with academic innovators and government agency insiders to translate technology into the commercial space.

Prior to her consultancy work, Caroline served as an executive with global responsibilities at several public and private life science companies, including MDS, bioMérieux, and Becton Dickinson. She was an attending physician in the emergency medicine department at Johns Hopkins Hospital and completed her residencies in internal medicine and in pathology at Johns Hopkins. She received her Juris Doctor from the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, D.C. in 2024. She obtained her Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health with a concentration in economics, health policy and management. She studied medicine at the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, where she grew up.
