Matthew L. Allison is Counsel at Nemphos Braue, where he advises clients on a wide range of corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and day-to-day business matters. Known for his practical approach and ability to drive efficient outcomes, Matthew serves as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex and high-stakes decisions. He works closely with clients throughout the full lifecycle of their businesses—from formation and growth to strategic transactions and exit.
Matthew also has experience collaborating on deal terms and managing multiple client requests throughout the deal-life process, overseeing general corporate issues and business law, and interpreting complex organizational documents. He has worked closely with clients in the technology, healthcare, solar, and hospitality industries, among others, helping them navigate and mitigate risks, close deals efficiently and achieve long-term business objectives.
Matthew joined Nemphos Braue in 2020 from Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr in Baltimore. He was included in the 2026 edition of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch®, and recognized as a Rising Star in Maryland by Super Lawyers®, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Harford County Public Library Foundation.
Admitted to practice law in the state of Maryland, Matthew graduated summa cum laude from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief for the University of Baltimore Law Review and a Distinguished Scholar in the Royal Graham Shannonhouse III Honor Society.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Matthew spent more than 8 years as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer for the United States Secret Service in Washington, D.C., a unique background that contributes to his clear, practical, and strategic-minded legal counsel.
He earned his M.B.A. and a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing and Sociology at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
